iRemit Global Remittance USA recently sponsored the Kalayaan 2006 Grand Ball which was held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, California on the 10th of June 2006. The Filipino community in Southern California, through the Kalayaan 2006 Steering Committee and in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, commemorated the 108th Anniversary of Philippine Independence. The year’s independence theme focused on the 100 years of major wave of Filipino migration to the United States of America.

In support of the event, iRemit USA co-sponsored the top two major prizes which include two-night, three-day stay in Discovery Suites, Ortigas along with round trip ticket to the Philippines courtesy of Eva Air and Northwest Airlines. Part of the program was a dinner-dance party and raffle draw for the more than 900 guests at the venue. Also present during the event were ConGen and Mrs. Willy Gaa, Senator Juan Flavier, and Steering Committee Vice Chair Lydia F. Soriano.
