It was a double win for the iRemit Taiwan Team as they emerged victorious during the opening of the Southern Taiwan Basketball Tournament. The tournament was held last May 07,2006 at the Kou-Kuang High School in Nantzu, Taiwan. iRemit participated in the Basketball tournament as one of the 16 teams and one of the major sponsors of the event.
The team played first in the tournament where they won. They were well-supported by fellow kababayans as they cheered and sang while the iRemit jingle was being played. "It`s really nice to hear titas in the background singing all together the high pitch part of the Jingle "Î..remit", as witnessed by Taiwan Branch Head Ms. Claire Vianzon.
As one of the major sponsors, iRemit marketing collaterals were displayed during the event. Banners were posted at the courtside while flyers were distributed during the event. There were over 900 overseas Filipino workers who graced the event. iRemit seemed to have been a favorite during the event with the host continuously plugging, "Sa iRemit na magpadala, safe na, mabilis pa!" Ecstatic about the good exposure, Ms. Vianzon also recounted, "One of the other team managers told me that the speaker has been continuously broadcasting these lines even after our game, he (manager) even thought that we sponsored the whole tournament because of our over exposure. We were more exposed than the others."
The team is on its second win and there are 5 more games until elimination. But the event proved to be a double win as the iRemit Taiwan team successfully sponsored the event. This is just one of the many projects of iRemit Taiwan and there are more winning streaks to expect from them.
